Q: Will this upgrade require an antitheft code?
A: Yes, the upgrade will require a 4-digit antitheft code. We will conveniently provide a card with the specific code as well as a sticker applied to the Uconnect 5™ module.
Q: Will this upgrade work right away after installation?
A: Yes, the system will function upon installation, but please allow up to 48 hours for the system to fully sync and acclimate to your vehicle for all features to appear on-screen.
Q: Will my rear backup camera continue to work as designed?
A: Yes, all Jeeps equipped with a backup camera are programmed to work plug & play.

Q: Is SiriusXM™ satellite radio supported?
A: Yes, the system is pre-programmed for full SiriusXM satellite radio functionality.
- If the wiring behind your factory radio features a curry colored FAKRA plug, utilize the included universal teal colored FAKRA adapter to mate it to the blue FAKRA plug on the Uconnect 5™ module.
Q: Will my steering wheel audio controls continue to work?
A: Yes. The system is pre-programmed to work with your factory steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
Q: Will my factory Bluetooth hands-free calling still work?
A: Yes. The upgrade is fully pre-programmed to function with your existing Uconnect™ Bluetooth hands-free calling system. Simply pair your phone to the new system.
Q: Is the factory remote CD player compatible with Uconnect 5?
A: No. The Uconnect 5™ system is not compatible with the factory remote CD player feature. If you would like to retain CD player capability, please contact us as we have a quality aftermarket CD player kit prepared to be released soon.
Q: Although I don't use the Jeep smartphone application subscription, will I retain it if I decide to use it one day?
A: No, Jeeps equipped with the older telematics features such as Uconnect Access™, Sirius Guardian™, 4G LTE Hotspot, etc will forfeit those features when upgrading to Uconnect 5™. The new Uconnect 5™ module uses an external telematics module whereas the older systems had telematics embedded in the radio module. Unfortunately, the new Uconnect 5™ telematics modules cannot be retrofitted at this time.
Q: My Jeep features "Off-Road Pages" will I retain that?
A: Yes. All customers will benefit with Off-Road Pages as a standard option on this upgrade.
Q: My Jeep features air suspension, will I retain that?
A: Yes, but air suspension settings (entry/exit mode, tire jack, etc.) will not be accessible on-screen. Pre-set your options as needed before removal. Contact your advisor for the latest GenieMAX update which may resolve this concern.
Q: My Jeep is the SRT / Trackhawk, is it compatible?
A: Yes, it is compatible, but full use of Drive Modes and Performance Pages are not yet available. Please check with your advisor for the latest update.
Q: I am upgrading from the 8.4-inch Uconnect 4 UAV to this Uconnect 5, do I need to install the included LVDS cable?
A: Yes. The Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems use different LVDS video cables. If the Uconnect 5 cable isn't installed, the screen will remain black.
Q: The radio bezel I received has a few additional buttons that are not needed, does that matter?
A: Although rare, if this happens, simply swap your current 8.4" bezel climate controls to the new bezel. Here's a link with written instructions on the Jeep Grand Cherokee HVAC Climate Control Swap steps. It's quick and easy.
Q: Do I need to inform Infotainment if my vehicle has aftermarket additions?
A: Yes. If your vehicle has non-factory additions, let us know in your Shopping Cart “Order Notes” so we can properly program and enable any required features that may not be present on your vehicle’s original build sheet.
